What is TRIAD?

TRIAD is an organization of law enforcement agencies in a county (sheriff's office, police departments, etc.) and older persons in the community who work together to reduce the criminal victimization of the elderly and maintain their safety in the home.

How does TRIAD work?

TRIAD uses a S.A.L.T (Seniors And Law enforcement Together) team approach. The S.A.L.T. Council is the advisory group which carries out TRIAD activities.

    Members can include:

  • Police chief(s) or designated officer(s)
  • Sheriff or designee
  • RSVP
  • AARP (mature/retired leaders)
  • Agency on Aging
  • Home extension service
  • Emergency response / medical representatives
  • Other agencies or individuals interested in the welfare of seniors

In Forrest county, TRIAD provides a FREE Home Safety Kit for those Seniors (over 50) or disabled who reside in Forrest County. There are no income restrictions.
